Discovering Germany culturally: Ideas for culture-centered learning: Description
Teachers who teach German as a foreign language are seen by their learners as a link to German culture. But what is actually typically German? How is German culture defined? In this training course, participants experience German and Düsseldorf culture at first hand in workshops at the training center as well as on excursions and outdoor experiences in the city. The focus is on lifestyle, housing and transportation, food and drink as well as modern literature, music and film. In the second step, the findings are processed pedagogically according to modern standards. Participating teachers receive ideas for the creation of their own digitally supported teaching materials relating to regional studies topics, in which the experiences from the training can be processed and used profitably in everyday school life, and apply the new knowledge in practical workshops.- Experience German culture up close in workshops and on excursions

Funding example
In the new EU education programme ERASMUS+ you can apply for grants for this training course - travel costs, accommodation, meals and course fees are funded.
In contrast to the previous application practice, the institutions/employers of teachers must now apply for the scholarships from the respective National Agencies - several scholarships can be applied for directly in one application.
